Almost lost Maria today

Maria at Pediatrics Intensive Care in Pitt Memorial Hospital.
Mona spent hours with Maria....

Well, as most of you probably know...Maria came minutes from dieing today. She was not eating for days, lost weight, was not responsive and we took her in to the emergency room. Finally, after 8 hours...someone finally noticed that it was serious...She was 95degrees F and went downhill from there...they medevaced her to Pitt Memorial Hospital in Greenville, NC. where we have been all day...She had a VIRUS in the lungs...and is finally responding and they are working hard her...we think she will be OK...but over time. There have been many prayers and help from so many with the boys...Noah even had a fever of 104 today and the Chaplain took all the boys to the doctor to get medicine.

Awesome Pastor..Johnny Hunt

Folks,
I love this man...he is a great pastor who I have met several times. His church Web site is www.fbcw.org
This interview is good for pastors to watch.

1st Tanning Bed and Spa treatment

Rafael kept a close eye on his sister and the nurses to make sure they were doing a good job and not hurting "my sister Maria Faith."

Maria under the tanning bed...to get rid of the jaundice...This is caused by the liver not being able to function completely...50 percent of babies get this..she had it so bad that she could have gone into seizures and had brain damage if it was left another day.

Dr. Conrad holds Maria...next to Mona and all the staff and nurses.

Well, Maria Faith has not even been here a week...and man has she started with the goods....ha.
We gave her a warm bath and she just relaxed and soaked it up...then, her Jaundice kicked in so she is currently getting her tanning bed...and she is relaxed in there too. We found out after we visited the doctor and all the staff and nursesWe are hoping she comes home with Mona for Christmas....thank you all for your support and prayers..

Pol Ibanez in the states

Our Missionary from the Philippines is in the states. We are so excited..we will see them next week...they will be in our home. Please pray for them as we seek the Lord for what He has in store for them. http://www.hagdanan.net/

POL AND WIFE

THEIR DAUGHTER

For those who don't know him, we met by "accident" through God in Virginia as he was going from church to church hoping for 25 dollars a month support. Well, that is a big baptist thing...

Not BAPTIST anymore. God has been doing a work in their life. The Baptist missionary place in Ohio kicked them out the other day because they found out that Pol was staying in the home of people of another denomination. Very, very bad....not only that, they kicked his 4 kids out of Bible College in the Philippines.

I said Praise the Lord. Pastor Tom Ruiz was teaching the bible students in Israel about Elijah by the brook...God cut the brook and sent him to Zarephath to the widow. Well, Zarephath means refining...Pol has left the brook and is now in refining. I firmly believe that God is going to do a mighty work through Pol.

His daughter will sing in the chapel on base next Sunday...we are looking forward to it. Please see where we can come together as a family and get them the support they need in this huge journey.

We had a chance to celebrate the birthday of the Marine Corps once again last night. We had a wonderful time. Preached...but knocked down

Well,
No pics with this one, but if you read it just know that I was deeply saddened as I found out that because of a military order that Lay Leaders are not allowed to preach in the base chapel when you are not deployed. This all occured after preaching Sunday....from Philippians 2. Two Marines lifted their hand to pray and accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior...instead of great rejoicing on earth...there was persecution...someone was upset that I led people in the "Sinner's prayer" and complained...then they found a way to stop me from preaching there.

Sometimes I believe that the reason God has put our family through so many different faith traditions is to show us, before we start our own church, why He was so upset with the "LAW GIVERS." Yet he showed so much compassion to those who had a deep desire for CHRIST.

This is pretty much a confirmation to me that the chaplaincy is not for me. I thought it would be, but this experience is showing more and more that the boundaries of mankind on sharing the gospel in the military is wrong and the more they shove "institution" instead of "organism" to refer to the body of believers...it is disappointing.

I hurt for those chaplains who want to but can't share Christ with the hurting people...He is all they need...yet...well, you know now why the military has no solution to PTSD or DIVORCE or SUICIDE...if they walk into a chapel...no way to Accept Christ there....walk into a chaplain's office...no way to accept Christ there....

What did Jesus say about this? He said in Matthew 5:10-12 :
"Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 11"Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. 12Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you."

Derek in Korea ...Franklin Graham festival

As most of you know, Derek Forbes is in Korea. We were so excited to see his blog update from Korea. Here is his message...also click here to go to his blog.

Busan Franklin Graham Festival

God has moved in the city of Busan. I was blessed to be a small part of work here that saw thousands come to Christ. To give you an idea of the size, the first day there were 60,000 people at the stadium. By the time of the invitation on Sunday night, the total attendance for the four days was over 325,000 people with over 8,000 coming forward at the invitation.
Still working on getting some more pictures. I have a great camera. But I have found that in order to get great pictures, I've got to have it with me and actually use it. Well, my interpreter, Samuel, had his camera and I will be getting pictures from him soon.
Please pray for the follow-up that is now taking place with these baby Christians. There are three things we do when we are invited to a city. The first is to train Christians in personal evangelism. The second is the Festival. The third is follow-up and discipleship with those who come forward during the invitation. As of today, we are focusing on the follow-up.
One major victory for Jesus last night was when a buddist monk came forward and said with tears in his eyes, "I'm a sinner. I don't want to live my life like this anymore." The gospel is so powerful. Franklin spoke on Sunday morning during devotions about how the simple teaching of the gospel is foolishness, but it changes so many lives.
I will write some more real soon. God is moving me in a new direction that I will share when I have more details.

Worship Leader

Well, it has been a total blessing...busy..yet loving the Lord. God has allowed Larry to be the worship leader at the Cherry Point base chapel....So far it has been a wonderful experience. At 9 a.m. he has to lead the hymnal music for the liturgical service and then at 11 a.m. is the contemporary time. We started with Unchanging, Tis so sweet, Holiness and All Who are Thirsty. WE have Stefean and his wife Sarah on the keyboard. The chaplains wife Marsha sings. C.J is a young Marine who is heading to Camp Pendleton...to find a Calvary Chapel. Anthony plays the drums for us. Please pray for Larry who has 3 college courses, leading music, a baby on the way...for time with the family, time with the Lord and that God will receive the glory for all of this.

Disney Animal Kingdom

Woah...it was cool to see all the animals at the Animal Kingdom today. The boys had a blast. You have to see Bug's Life...it was the greatest.

Rafael and Noah at Disney

Mona and Larry took their little boys Rafael and Noah to the Disney park this week. They are having a blast. Their older bros are staying with the grandparents. While it is fun to be there, it is sad to see so much teaching to young people about "Wish hard enough and it will come true." They also talk about waking up the gods. They also make it a point to listen to your HEART. The Bible says that the heart is deceitfully wicked; the world is complete opposite of God and they are instilling this in our kids at Disney.
